Welcome at the Educational Psychology and Lifespan Development Lab at the Ruhr University Bochum! We study the determinants of a functional academic development from an educational psychology perspective.

The focus of our work is in the areas of 1) knowledge and beliefs of teachers, 2) gender differences in school success and 3) dealing with diversity and inclusion in schools. For our research we use both secondary analysis of existing data (e.g., the National Educational Panel Study NEPS) as well as experimental study designs and mixed-methods approaches and collaborate with researchers from other disciplines.
